SUMMER IS HERE!

          ~Sizzling Summer Heat~

As temperatures continue to rise, make sure your pet has all his summer

gear. If he spends most of his time outside, this includes adequate shade, and

plenty of fresh water changed daily. However, there may be some days that

are too hot for your pet even with shade and water, and leaving him inside

would be the safest thing to do.

Remember, whether your pet is inside, outside or both, it is best to keep

him protected from fleas and ticks with a monthly prevention. We sell several

different products such as Advantage, Advantix, and Frontline, all created to

be effective yet extremely safe for your pet. There is no appointment

required, just stop in and pick up yours today.

      Important Vacation Information!

If you are planning a vacation soon, don't forget about your pet! If your

companion has to spend his vacation in a Kennel  ~instead of the beach~ there

is an important vaccine he or she has to have before going. The vaccine is

called Bordetella, and it protects against what is commonly known as

"Kennel Cough". It is an airborne disease, and is highly transmittable. All

kennels require dogs to have it before boarding, and it is most effective if

done ten days or more prior to boarding. It is also recommended that your dog

receives this vaccine if he is groomed, enrolled in training classes, or regularly

visits heavily (dog) populated environments. (Petsmart, parks, etc.)

Additionally , if you're planning a camping trip, and your pet will be joining

you, then it is important for your dog receive the Lyme disease vaccine. Lyme

disease is transmitted by the Deer tick, and it only takes 24 hours of feeding

for the disease to be passed to your dog.
